" Danger is my Middle Name "
Are you
looking for a band with a fresh pop punk sound ? Maybe
one that the band members really do have Danger as their Middle
Name ? If you’re looking for some new catchy pop punk songs to
rock out to check out a band from Chicago Illinois, Danger is
my Middle Name.
In May of `06 a pop punk band with a sound similar to Fall out
Boy, Cartel and
New Found Glory started out in Chicago, Illinois with the
two original members Gabe ( lead vocals/ guitar ) and Craig (
bass). They became known as " Danger is my Middle Name
",feeling it would be a name that would stick in people's head,
which I have to agree that it does. They worked together to
write and record music as well as played their first show. It
wasn't until the spring of `07 that William(
lead guitar)
joined the band and November of that same year that Mickey(
drums ) joined the band to make up the lineup they have today.
Danger is my Middle hits the stage with their catchy up beat
songs that can get stuck in your head through out the day long
after the show is over. You can expect to hear some of their
songs such as, " Revenge on the Radio " , " Side-car One ", "
Goodbye Skyline" and one of William's ( lead guitar ) favorite
songs to play live, "My favorite song to play live is Heroes
and
Underdogs because it is a fast paced punk song. I grew up
playing more faster/heavier punk music, and that song just
reminds me of that style." While listening to Danger is my
Middle Name you can see how they are influenced by some bands
musically as William says, "Musical
influences would be bands like
Alkaline Trio, Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy, etc. I am
inspired by my father as well, since he did teach me guitar.
People that also attend our shows and go crazy influence us as
well! "
Currently they are playing shows in states such as Illinois ,
Indiana, Texas and Pennsylvania. William( lead guitar) talks
about his favorite parts of tour as , " Favorite part about tour
is playing my PSP! That and seeing a bunch of different places
and all that. Definitely love the sight seeing portion of
tour." Their music has evolved in a good way, "We all put a
good amount of time into songs we write. We add a lot more into
the songs we write today, but we still stick to out pop punk
roots " Danger is my Middle name is working towards their
ultimate which is to write a full record , tour as much as
possible and have tons of fun and hopes to see you all soon.
If you'd like to check out more about Danger is my Middle name
such as listen to their music or see when they will be playing a
show near you so maybe you can be one of those people that
attend the show and go crazy and influence them as well , take

Take a Look at "Look what I did"
With many bands in the mainstream producing music close the same
sound today, it's not always easy to find music you like out
there. If you are into rock that has a progressive sound to it
there's a band you surely need to check out. Take a listen and a
look towards the band Look What I Did.
Look what I did originally began around 2001 in
Nashville,
Tennessee.
Since then it has had a few changes in the line-up before
getting to their line-up now consisting of Barry (vocals), Skeet
(guitar), Ty (bass), Chris (guitar) and Jake (drums).
Right off the bat hearing they are from
Nashville
you make think this band must be country music, Look what I did
proves not all bands from
Nashville have to fit that mold. When asked to describe their
music Jake( drums ) says "describing our music is something i
cant do. People ask, i say "rock", and then when they say, "is
it like...", i just say "yea". I've given up. Sometimes i lie
and try to see how far from the truth I can get. I call it
DIFFERENT."
I first saw Look what I did live over this past summer. They
were on "The Terrible Shirt" tour with Psychostick, and
Powerglove at the time. The show was in LaCrosse, so it was
about a four hour car trip for me to get there. As I hear them
starting to play I really liked their sound, it wasn't quite
like all the other music out and it was something you could
really get into. After the show I got to talking to the band
outside as we were all finishing up packing up our equiment. If
you go to a show don't forget to say a hello to them after the
show ,or even bring them food they get hungry on tour and would
love it.
Look what I Did's album that is now out is called "Minute Man"
was recorded in LA with Brian Virture (Jane's addiction,
Deftones), who is also recording their new record that's two
years in the making. Make sure you also stay on the lookout for
the new album about to be released through Modernist Movement .
Look what I Did is also currently on tour right now ,Jake
(drums) describes tour as " Touring is a long adventure. Always
new places, new faces, new problems, new payoffs. Now its at the
point where all my friends are in other states and when I'm not
on tour I dont get to see them. "
Be sure to check out Look what I did schuelde on their myspace
page
www.myspace.com/lookwhatidid as well as to listen to their
music and check in on updates.

The
Insecurities have arrived with "Ban the Kiss Hello"
If you are looking for music that is like a breath of fresh air
to Today music scene check out " The Insecurities " an Indie
band from Chicago Ill. that joking decribes their music as "
Quiet Riot and three drunk cowboys" but more seriously as just
lyrical acoustic piano rock.
It seems right now in the music scene everything is the same.
Many Bands all are wearing the bright colors and sunglasses
playing the same type of music almost as clones. There is one
band that falls far from that mold and that is "The
Insecurities" ,from Chicago. The Insecurities was formed when
lead singer/guitarist Stubhy Pandav was feeling musically
cornered and was sick of working amongst the formula and just
wanted to do his own thing. Stubhy first started jamming with
Ramzi Hassan (drums/vox) just to be a fun bar band. They were
trying to get booked at bars it was not until members started
getting added Dan Borgo (bass) , Chris Orebaugh (keys) and
Brian Sherman ( gutiar/ vocals ) that they realized they had
something really good here. They decided to start taking things
more seriously.......but just a little.

The Insecurities have just released their first E.P. entitled "
Ban The Kiss Hello" on October 11th. The E.P. has such songs on
it as " Bite my Tongue " , " Circle Three Times " and "
Waterfalls Alcohol ." They started the band in April and
started recording the E.P. in June . A couple of the songs
from " Ban the Kiss Hello" were already in the pocket of lead
vocals/guitarist Stubhy for a while and a couple were new.
Stubhy says " Writting each song is different with usually my
surroundings inspire my songs if they're not spawned by internal
turmoil. With this band I don't really ever try to write songs,
if they come they come, I don't force anything."
As I was listening to their E.P. I came up with what my favorite
song From it was as everyone does when they listen to music .My
favorite is " Bite my Tongue" turns out it is also Stubhy
Pandav's favorite off the E.P.he explains why by saying "I like
Bite My Tongue the best probably. The performance by all the
members came out as "real" as the song is. I love when you can
listen to a song and you can hear the exact moment when the
bands heart breaks."
If you go over to The Securities websites
www.myspace.com/theinsecuritiesmusic and
www.purevolume.com/iminsecure you can not only listen to
their E.P. " Ban the kiss hello" and see pics but also check out
their show scheulde. Be sure if you see a show of theirs you can
make it out to that you check it out. It's a show I think you're
really enjoy.

"Proven
Worth" Proves They're Worth a Listen
If you are looking for a band to listen to that you haven't
heard of yet, you should lend an ear to Proven Worth, a
pop/punk, emo/rock band from PA. Proven Worth has been around
the scene since 2005 . Their lineup has changed a couple of
times over the years before they found the right people to
create their catchy sound. Matty Adorno the lead singer/ rhythm
guitarist for Proven Worth has had his voice compared to the
likes of Patrick Stump from Fall out Boy. Other member include
Dave Thompson ( lead guitar ) , Tom who goes by "The Claw "
plays the bass and Kevin Sitaras (drums) .
Proven Worth has recorded a full length album just last year in
2007called " Last to Know , First to Find Out ." If you do check
out their sites you will find songs that are catchy and get
stuck in your head through out the day. With their songs such as
" Into Your Arms " , " Chances like these " and " Sweet or Salty
" you will get sucked in by their catchy riffs and chorus. Their
music has also caught the attention of other bands in their
surrounding area and beyond. A Local band from Kenosha " Theory
is None to Fall " has covered Proven Worth's song " Sweet or
Salty " both at shows and a recorded version. They have recently
over the summer had some of the members from Proven Worth and
Theory is None to Fall come together . They have both come to
decide to look into in the future turning "sweet or salty" into
a duet together . So be on the look out for that coming up on
the band's website.
If you go to a Proven Worth show it's not one that you will
easily forget, they put on quite a show for all of their fans
and newcomers to the shows. They are also one of those bands
that before or after the show you can find yourself talking to
.They take the time to talk to their fans which is really nice
,since alot of bands don't do that anymore. They care about
their fans and their music that they are putting out there. You
can tell just by listening that this is not a band that just
throws something together. It's easy to tell Matty puts well
constructed lyrics together with time and personality into their
music. This is one very hard working band that puts all they
have into their music so the fans and you future fans can enjoy
it . As a result of that you can listen to the music of Proven
Worth finding yourself relating to the music .Proven Worth
drummer , Kevin Sitaras adds in " I would like to say thank you
to everyone who comes out to a show. Every one of you has made a
difference in our lives, and gave us something to wake up in the
morning for. Music is something that'll stay in your heart
forever."
Be sure to check out some of the videos they have posted up on
their website to get a glimpse of their shows. Proven Worth is a
favorite on my ipod as I find myself listening to them time
after time. After you hear them you just might find yourself
asking the question" How did I not know about this band before?"
